I met a person who said he had had an idea for online education in mind much before the actual onsurge happened in the industry. But he didn’t take any step to create anything out of his idea, imagination. And later on, witnessed the industry taking on his undeclared, unused idea worth billions. Why? Because he didn’t let his imagination and execution meet each other. Imagination did exist in his mind but nothing was created out of it.
For any result, it is important that we allow our imagination and implementation give equal chance for success. Only ideation don’t have any presence or future. Ideation is very important as creation without brilliant imaginations are nothing but only labour, simple manufacturing. Think of the pair of Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak who created Apple. Had Steve Jobs brilliant imaginations and ideas not met with Wozniak’s talent in electronics and machines, would there be any result? Without Wozniak, all the ideas of Jobs would be nothing. Similarly, Wozniak would not have come out with excellent products like Apple that shook the world without having the finest brain of Jobs at work.
In any industry, in any profession, it is the meeting of executors and ideators who can produce a result. A solid script would not make an impactful movie without a good director. That’s why we have seen movies with good stories fail miserably when not produced well, and best of the directors making super flops when working on scripts sans creativity. The role of imagination and execution is equal and complementary for the final and successful outcome. In absence of any of them, either there would be no product or the product would be of no special characteristics.
Do you have any idea that is yet to be executed? Start working on it. Or if you are a good at execution but working without any imaginative inputs, it’s right time to find them.
